Read MoreI really wanted to like this place and as a former business owner I am mostly reviewing this so the owner knows why a customer won’t be returning. I’m usually an obligate tipper but I just couldn’t for this situation because it was just not acceptable service.
While my lady was verbally kind to me, she ended 10 min early even after we discussed her wanting to stop 15 minutes early and me saying I’d like to continue for the entire hour I had already paid for. I had laid on the table for 10 min watching the clock before she started my massage because she had another late customer come in and she needed to call in another worker. I wasn’t upset by that but I expected my full time which I had paid for. She disputed the start time with me which was unpleasant.
She left the room several times mid massage and she was looking at her phone intermittently scrolling while massaging me with one hand for almost half the time. I had to ask her to please not look at her phone at one point because it was so distracting and not pleasant. I had considered just walking out at that point.
I was in the last slot of the day and she told me I needed to come in earlier. I truly hope she has a better day tomorrow. Maybe she was just really tired.
Seems like it’s not the most pleasant job, although the spa is really nice actually, so I feel compassion for her. I want her to know she has potential to be a good masseuse and if she put in more effort and respected certain rules of service behavior she could probably charge more for her time. If she just hadn’t been on the phone and had massaged me for the time I paid for, she would have definitely gotten an extra $10-20 from me, depending on how much effort she put in.
