The staff was great. However, Dr. Bryant, well, I went to her to find out if I had any underlying cardiovascular issues because I have POTs. She said POTs is due to stress and anxiety and that POTs is not an autonomic dysfunction disorder. Dr. Bryant asked a few questions and asked if I was stressed in which I told her “no”. She was adamant I am stressed saying that because I am overweight, live in an apartment, single, and have no children is why I am overly stressed which is the reason I have POTs. Said if I could manage my anxiety, weight and stress that my POTs would get better.
It took 3 three years for a diagnosis. I am 4 years in. Finally, I am physically and emotionally stable. This condition has taken a huge toll on me and my family/friends. Many doctors pegged this out to be anxiety prescribing medications that only exacerbated my symptoms making life more difficult for me. I ended up in a wheelchair many weeks at a time because of it. The feeling like I was dying was horrific! Those were not my thoughts, but my body felt that way. I am glad that I am not living in that moment anymore. I can’t imagine being mentally vulnerable and having to hear such negative comments from a so called trusted physician.
Dr. Bryant’s treatment/commentaries can be very damaging to patients who are mentally and emotionally vulnerable. This is the worst experience in my entire life. I would never recommend Dr. Bryant to anyone.
