Just left here, and it was not a good experience at all.
I called yesterday to get in for a full set and even let them know I was running late this morning due to the rainy weather.
I arrived to a shop that was completely empty. They sat me down at the man's station, and two of them seemed to be having a meeting about my nails in their language. I did hair and nails for over 20 years and I'm not a fan of lack of communication as a customer.
I let them know I could not understand what they were saying and I seemed to get bad attitude for saying that and they continued on, even including two more women across the room in the chat and also laughing.
This was already uncomfortable, but I proceeded with telling him what I wanted as far as shape, length design. It was pretty simple- long coffin, natural pink acrylic, thin white French design painted on, clear gel on top.
They insisted on showing me a book asking what color, and I told them none of those colors. I'd explained what I wanted and had the pic out on my phone.
I'd asked him to make sure the tips were glued on straight (crooked nails are the worst.. lol) and that they did not point upwards as they look terrible, especially as they grow out.
He was sucking his teeth and continuing to gossip to the woman who insisted on standing next to him the whole time watching. I was being cordial with them letting them know I was particular about my nails and I also tip well and stick to a tech I like if I can find a good one (I just moved to this state).
He seemed in such a hurry to get the tips glued on and wouldn't let me look at the side view or anything until done with the whole hand. When I was finally able to look, he did exactly what I asked him not to! :(
4/5 nails were pointing upward and were crooked.
I told him about this, and he said okay and kept gluing the tips on the other hand. He clipped one nail from the first hand and soaked it in a thimble of acetone. When I asked him what about the other tips of that hand being redone as well, he got angry and stood up talking very loud back and forth with the women there and told me "I don't like to do for you!"
He tried to grab my hand in a gruff manner with some small scissors in his other hand to, I assume, cut them off. I told him no as I was scared at that point with his demeanor.
I asked him to please borrow his nail clippers so I could cut the tips off myself so I could drive. He allowed me that but they stood over me the whole time while I tried to hurry to cut them off and get out of there.
I took some cash out of my wallet to leave a few bucks for the glue and tips used. He took the money from me and roughly shoved it into my wallet.
I have never experienced such nasty, unprofessional behavior trying to get a personal service done. Nobody should be treated like that for expressing their preferences as a paying customer!
I'm still a bit shaken and will obviously not be back.
