AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS.

This hospital is staffed by doctors from "Century Integrated Partners". Their bill to me clocked in at $1,486. Naturally, I called to complain and was told that this was "competitive for the area". Fortunately, insurance kicked in on this bill and it was "adjusted" down by $949.27 (-64%), with $429.38 paid by BCBS-TX, leaving $107.34 for me to pay. That's one heck of discount, eh? Seems like fraud to allow BCBS-TX to pay a reduced amount while insisting (before I updated insurance information) that I pay the full amount.
Stay tuned ...

Nope, I'm not going away Emerus Holdings (the owner of this business). Still no resolution on these obscene charges. To date, I've paid $500 (while I was there in the ER) and insurance (BCBSTX) has paid $1,527.17. This leaves $3372.32 unpaid/un-adjusted. As noted, customer service is less than useful, mostly just offering me "payment plans".

I contacted their customer service team and was told "Please note that our charges are in line with other facilities in the area, however the amount billed is reviewed by your insurance plan for allowable amount on the services rendered. The claim is processed according to our contract with your insurance company."
Interesting that they say the "charges are in line", but refuse to tell me what they're usually paid by the insurance (the negotiated rate) once the deductible is met. Crooks.
Original review:
Went in to check out some intermittent chest pain. Had the usual workup of ECG, blood tests, X-Ray which were all normal. We were there for about 1.5 hours while they waited on results. Just got the bill: $5,399.32! Stay away from this "profit center", which really shouldn't be calling itself an Emergency Room.
