I first started seeing Dr. Aubrechtova after my former neurologist moved out of state and I needed a new doctor that was in my insurance network. At first things seemed great! It was fairly easy to get an appointment and the transfer between doctors was far easier than I had anticipated. We had quite a few visits where I genuinely felt that Dr. Aubrechtova really understood and cared about me and my condition (epilepsy, VNS patient) and had a good plan set up for adjusting my VNS and helping me take fewer medications, as I was incredibly highly medicated. After some trial and error we seemed to be on a path to success! However, I started having some adverse side effects to a new medication prescribed to me by Dr. Aubrechtova, and when I mentioned it everything started to go downhill. She had no empathy toward me, talked down to me, was incredibly condescending, and many times didn't even believe me! When I started to push back she essentially told me I was out of luck if I didn't follow her plan, that there weren't other options. I struggled immensely with the medication she prescribed me, and she made me feel like every issue I ran into was my fault. Eventually I decided to leave Texas to move back home because of how much I was struggling with these issues, and when I asked her if she could send a referral to a neurologist for me, she simply told me i was "in big trouble" and didn't give me any referral or help for moving. This office is hardly functional, it's impossible to get a hold of anyone, incredibly incompetent front desk staff... I'm glad I'm leaving, but it couldn't me any more difficult to do so thanks to them.
