Unfortunately, my experience with him has destroyed my quality of life. I try to get relief by sitting, stretching and other forms of activity but I am in pain 100% of the time now. He told me there was a good chance I wouldn't be able to walk if I didn't have this surgery. Now, I realize this was all exaggerated in order to get me to agree to this surgery.
My life is horribly inferior to what it was prior to this surgery. It's only been 5 years since the lumbar fusion and the pain is intolerable and I'm only 44!!! I'm so fearful of what the next five years look like. I feel like my life is over. I cry everyday because of this man and the impact he has had in my life.
Now, since he doesn't know how to treat my pain, he has decided to not treat me anymore. His response to my asking for help is, "I just can't." This, according to Jane, his "right-hand man." What a disappointment. I now find it intolerable how he cuts on more and more people completely unabated. One doctor I saw after this surgery commented that he's cut-happy and a candy dispenser. My experience reflects strongly in favor of this.
No one should ever have recommended me for a full lumbar fusion! I had no idea, really, what I was getting myself into. So terribly and dreadfully disappointed. I will never be the same or wishfully close.
No one talks about the mental stress of changing your body in such a dramatic way. This has caused me damage in that way as well. I can't bend my body. I can't move well. My muscles are atrophying. I can't live a normal life.
I hope this review is helpful to someone. Please don't trust this doctor alone. Get second and third opinions from doctors he's NOT friends with, if possible.
