Let me start by saying, For 3+ yearsMy experience’S w/ the HEALTH CARE from APLA has been consistently good/great and professional, and THEY have helped me GREATLY. (through a particularly dark time, depression, and lowest point in my life)The team of nurses, Doctors, therapists, and EVEN the front end staff (who were bashed on previous ratings here) have been professional and courteous at a minimum. Overall the staff have been great, and I have to credit for my being alive, well and happy today. What more SERIOUSLY do you want from your health care? They even call you to remind you of your appointment the day/night before. Had a apt on a Monday , I got a reminder call on Saturday afternoon, “don’t forget, set an alarm on your phone!”I have personally had touching experiences, (not a joke) with nurses, one in particular, when we all struggled through this pandemic, (my parents & her parents got covid around same time, it was scary, and we had heartfelt moment sharing, and we continued to speak and support each other through the following months, tragically, she suffered loss of parent, but she was strong and worked through, and helped me greatly)I could talk more about how great my therapist was…. 👍🏽👍🏽or how My Dr took the time to go over things thoroughly, twice…. so that I knew what was going on and how to fix myself. My experience with APLA and the three Dr’s.(Thompson, Kao, & DiVenti) 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽have been more than sufficient to turn things around and regain good health, and I haven’t been the ideal patient, so to speak. The only time i experience any kind of neg attitude was when I was not holding up my end. I was late, missed appointments, had times when I forgot to refil medication on time, and ran out… these things are irresponsible, but they happen time to time. Your dr might be upset with you, might have a tone, My not making my appointment on time means they got to put in extra work, speed up here, make extra calls, postpone lunch… these are humans workin, doing their best, trying To HELP YOU And I ……. and we should all be great full for their doing their best In these difficult times. We must understand that one bad experience with someone at the front desk shouldn’t warrant going online and shaming the whole office and all the GREAT PEOPLE that work there!!ApLA is needed in Long Beacb, they ARE doin great things and helping soo many people! I see/ have seen that through the years.Oh and one other thing, for a LGBT person, (gay man) who has had REAL unpleasant, experiences, with other providers who don’t regularly see people from the LGBT community, coming to APLA was like a breath of fresh air. It seems to be there are many working here as well, so u get that sense that you are In the right place.I never felt that before with my health care. From paying high $$ bills and monthly premiums and not getting what I felt I needed previously when I was employed to health care being unemployed and going to the county health department… ha Good luck getting welcoming faces with big smiles , engagement with no attitude and the thorough care you will get here!!Want to end on a positive note (well undetectable now) it’s great to know that I’m getting the care from APLA that will help me to live a longer healthier life!! Thank You. 🙏🏼
