At my mom's last visit in Nov 2021 or so, we scheduled our next appointment for February. Initially the front desk wanted to schedule for January but we asked for it to be moved to Feb because we wanted it to be 3 months out, not 2. Apparently, she did schedule us for Feb, but I guess she forgot to remove the January appointment. We didn't know and now they are saying we are no show for the Jan appointment. It's not our fault your employees made the error. It's also not our responsibility to pay for a mistake we did not make.
Not to mention, when my mom and I showed up for the Feb appointment, the office was closed due to the doctor's mom passing. Sorry for his loss, but they could've set up an automatic message to inform all patients that their office was closed and all appointments at that time was cancelled. Nope...we showed up only to see a paper notice on the window. No problem, grief can make you forget about small things.
I just called after they returned to office and scheduled an appointment for today. My mom and I come in today and we are told we need to pay a "no show" fee for the Jan appointment (again, their mistake not ours). The supposed wife refused to reason and basically told us we can't see the doctor unless we pay the no show fee. We left.
My mom, thankfully, has enough medicine to get by for another 2-3 months. We just wanted to see the doctor to go over her recent blood test and request a new prescription for future refills. Now, if it was someone else who urgently needed to see the doctor to get a new medication prescription, they would be out of luck if they experienced this. In my opinion, I would say this clinic embodies everything that is wrong with the american healthcare system--money mindset over patient care.
