I made an appointment over the phone and asked if they took my insurance, they didn't, so they put me as self pay. Got to the appointment and showed my insurance card anyway just in case, and they confirmed they don't take it. Upon giving my card back, they informed me that now that they know I do have insurance (despite me mentioning it over the phone and them not even taking it), they could no longer accept me as a self pay customer because it’s illegal, and denied me my appointment.
This must not be known information among all employees because I was allowed to make the initial appointment. Also it should be noted that the person I talked with to set up this appointment worked at their Flower Mound location.
In addition to this experience, I also did not like how they communicated with me about my test results from my last appointment. The results were not explained well and I was freaking out, and they were so hard to get a hold of with their hours! I got a notification about medicine to pick up at CVS without knowing what is was or why I needed it. FINALLY I was able to have the doctor at their OTHER location explain the results to me, it was something I'd already known about since childhood so it was nothing to worry about.
This has been my family's medical provider for over 20 years, since I was a baby, but this was the first experience I had with them as an insured adult. Unfortunately, I will no longer be going here since they won’t let me pay with insurance nor self pay. My sister also had a bad experience at this location and stopped going years ago. She now goes to the Flower Mound location and only has good things to say about it. We've both now warned our youngest sister about the Keller location to ensure she does not go there for medical check ups.
Maybe I’m not being fair at the moment because I'm frustrated and hungry due to fasting for the women's welfare checkup they denied me, so it’s possible I’ll delete this review if afterward I deem it unfair. I always try to leave fair reviews for both good and bad experiences.
Anyway, I do not recommend this location. I do however recommend their Flower Mound location for now.
