Been a patient here for 3 years. All around a horrible experience. There is little to no proper communication that takes place here. I was once left without meds for over a month because no one cared to tell me that my Dr switched specialties and could no longer see me so he couldn't fill it. I just kept getting the runaround. Now they have a call center which delays communication even worse, but at least the employees you speak to are NICE, professional people with proper phone etiquette. Which is more than I can say for the girls working at urgent care. They are extremely rude, immature, and unprofessional. They act like high school mean girls way past their peak and have zero phone etiquette. From the moment I walked in those girls wanted to have a problem with me, and were loudly talking about me and making fun of my name and my handwriting. How miserable can you be?? You work at a clinic where people go when they're in distress or not feeling well, so you need to learn how to be a decent and compassionate human. They looked at me like I was dirt under their feet and acted as if I didn't deserve the right to privacy by broadcasting my health information out loud for anyone to hear which is a HIPAA violation btw. I would know because I had HIPAA training, something they clearly should brush up on. Extremely rude on the phone as well. When someone says "thanks for your help" you're supposed to respond with, "ur welcome, goodbye." not slam the phone down on the receiver. This is common sense but you're welcome for the helpful advice anyway. When I called the employees out on their rude behavior they got defensive, combative, and unprofessional, not surprised when it came to these heathens. They do more sitting around gossiping about patients and their personal lives than I've ever seen any of them work, it does not take 3 employees to check in a patient and 6 employees criticizing their handwriting for a patient to get basic care for their needs. They should be ashamed. It is truly a disgrace to me as someone who has worked in healthcare that people like that are in this field. I don't think these types of employees belong there.
P.S. To any of those girls from UC if you're reading this I sincerely hope you reflect and get the help you need. I understand it's a tough job but that does NOT make it okay for you to go out of your way to treat patients like they are beneath you. Imagine how you'd feel if your loved one was seeking care and had to deal with someone who acted like you during their most vulnerable moments. I can guarantee you wouldn't like that. You need to learn to be more compassionate and KIND, it's not that hard. If that's too hard for you then maybe consider finding a different career path away from working with people. Sick, elderly, and disabled people already deal with enough - they shouldn't have to deal with your attitude. It's not their fault you have personal problems.
