Dr. Gavilanes would not see me for a pre-op for my upcoming surgery. Being late 60's and having surgery, I wonder, is this geriatrician waiting until I approach death's door before taking a) an existing Nuvance patient with all medical records on its servers, b) asking to switch permanently to him from a NYC primary care doctor to be closer home, c) had already been treated by the excellent Norwalk Hosp ER for pulmonology with all imaging done - but could not switch pulmonologists, from Lenox Hill, to even see a Nuvance pulmonologist in an ER-set timeframe (did a Google review on that too).
Fact: Fairfield County is expensive. Fact: to live here, many have careers in NYC. Fact: NYC careers can lead to accessing the top NYC doctors. Fact: as these CT residents age they often want or need local care. Fact: the merged Nuvance epitomizes something NYC careerists learn in B-School, "bureaucracy stifles creativity". Fact: Nuvance administratistrative processes are dehumanizing & dumb. Fact: from a macro perspective Nuvance (and its ilk) are essentially their doctor's technology &. administrative cost solution - so D&D is on them.
Footnote: I feel bad for Nuvance medical practice nurses and administrative professionals. Nuvance constraints turn them, at least partially, into bots.
