Agave Family Physicians are truly staffed and owned by criminals. After weeks of trauma, my mom is finally out of the hospital. She is being seen by her surgeon and her surgeon suggests that she go to her family physician to deal with terrible swelling in her feet. They refuse to make an appointment earlier than one week away due to a "lack of availability." But, but...she's sick! Don't you have a provision in your scheduling to get sick patients in? "No." In a doctor's office, they have no ability to see sick patients earlier than one week.
So I call Dr. Stoeckmann's assistant. She calls back and says "The doctor says she needs to be seen in the emergency room because it sounds serious." Emergency? But her surgeon said it wasn't. And her assistant says "Well, we have no availability." So you panic my mother and tell her it's an emergency because you have no availability? Is that ethical? Her response - "I did not. I'm only repeating what the doctor says." Oh. Okay.
I ask for a copy of her records so we can take her somewhere immediately and receive informed care, and she agreed to have the records ready. When I arrived at the office, they told me that, even though they were refusing to give her adaquate care, in order to actually GET adequate care, she must pay $25. ("We're not refusing to give her care." Oh? Then I'll bring her right over. "We have no appointments for a week." Um, I'm pretty sure that means you're refusing to give her care.)
After we pay the $25 she tells me they have 24 hours to produce the papers. Finally, I LOSE MY MIND.
And immediately (and I mean immediately) she produces the already-copied paperwork.
Dear lord, after all she has been through, their last action toward my mom is to screw with her? They would refuse to give her service and then, when we attempt to get adequate, informed care elsewhere, they would block that attempt?
Never, ever, ever will I step back into that office unless it changed hands and staff and doctors that care about service, care about their patients' health, and have a beating heart, step into it first. Shame on every single person at Agave Family Physicians.
