Read MoreI was recommended this doctors office as a couple of my friends used Lisa Emm for their pregnancies. I deeply regret using Dr. Lisa Emm as my OBGYN for my very first pregnancy. My first pregnancy was a twin pregnancy and was automatically considered high risk. Every visit I had, i really felt dismissed every time I spoke with dr. Emm. I am very in touch with my body and can sense changes, discomfort and know when something is wrong. However, i never felt taken seriously. I lost my mucus plug and was having contractions at 22weeks and 4 days. Since their office doesn’t have a way to contact dr emm after hours, at least I was never given a number other than the nurse that sends you to the ER, I just waited until the next day. Thankfully, my contractions stopped but I was still put of the toco to check for contractions. Dr. Emm’s exact words were “this is a fluke event, you can keep traveling, cleaning, doing laundry and cooking” I went into active labor at 24 weeks and 4 days and delivered my twins at 25weeks and 2 days. I was in active labor for 5 days and on strict bed rest at the hospital and because she said I could continue to travel until my 3rd trimester, i went to my baby shower 2 hours away and delivered the next day at an unfamiliar hospital. I am very disappointed with the care I received at dr emms office. I dont recommend dr emms office for anyone considered high risk and especially not multiples. My children are now fighting for their lives all because dr emm missed and dismissed my signs of preterm labor. I really hope that this doesn’t happen to anyone else… my children were born at under two lbs each and watching them struggle everyday to do basic things like breathe really hurts. They’ll be in the NICU until at least January and I feel that I’m missing so much, i cant hold them, i cant breast feed them… i dont know if this could have been prevented but it would be nice to at least know that she cared. I haven’t even heard anything from dr emm since i delivered. She even refused to sign a prescription for 3 days for my breast pump order that my insurance required. Again, stay away from this office if you want to feel cared for and have a high risk pregnancy
