I was excited about Dr Strand when I saw her for the first time about 2yrs ago but my last visit was not good. I felt rushed, I was waiting for at least 20min for her and once she came in, she looked ready to wrap up her day quickly. Mainly what I’ve noticed is that she listens to an extent and then throws out referral right away, without diving in more, or working through next steps, or even explaining what labs she’s putting in for and why. Lazy medicine. I was there for a physical and talked about how I’m doing these days, and somehow ended up with a $300 bill because she decide to submit all of my labs under a code based on one thing that I said during the entire visit, which was not the at all the main reason I was there. All labs under that code! So insurance billed me for basic labs that would normally be done with a yearly physical. Once I found that out I honestly felt like she did it on purpose out of frustration that I asked her a few questions about my health during my yearly check in. It’s insane that you have to sit and shut up in your appointments for fear of being coded differently - not under preventative. If she had said something to me, such as, this is falling outside of a normal yearly physical, duh, I would have totally understood. Instead she screwed me whether she meant to or not, it’s ridiculous, and honestly almost worse if it was unintended because that is just ignorant. I am finding these days that I am better off searching out well rated medical podcasts to help me with my symptoms because this has been my experience so many times. Or at least to gain knowledge and then come with a list of questions and challenge the system more.
