I had to switch pharmacies FROM Walgreens at Bacons Bridge Road, to CVS North Main street for a few reasons that I won't get in to, but essentially, I was not happy with the service in most if not all categories. So, this review is somewhat based on the experience I suffered from when dealing with the associates in the Pharmacy that represent the 'Walgreens' name brand. In other words, I generally do not like pharmacies, and having to deal with pharmacies, because 10 times out of 10 when I am having to go to a pharmacy to begin with, im already either sick, injured, or otherwise have issues that force the 'need' to go, I have never visited a pharmacy when I was feeling 100% great, always for a reason that id rather not be dealing with.
It's important when im not firing on all cylinders that (and when I am at 100%) to treat everyone with patience, respect and kindness. So, naturally, when im not feeling 100%, im injured or sick, and even having to miss work and my pay for that day; its most important for me to recieve that kind of treatment in return. I never experienced that kind of consideration or treatment when I had to go Walgreens to pick up pharmaceuticals. So, thank goodness for capitalism, and competition in the retail pharmaceutical sector. I found that consideration and treatment in CVS. Sure, its not perfect, and from time to time there is a miscommunication about what day I need to come to pick up my monthly medicine..., but 'when' that inevitably happens, what i get from the pharmacy staff at CVS is COMMUNICATION, Patience, understanding, and kindness. No, I dont expect them to fill my orders early, or break protocol, or worse the law. But I expect them to also understand that they are paid to communicate and interface with the public, that is what they are paid to do. And the folks at CVS, (this location) do that very well in my humble opinion.
My fiance is disabled, and was involved in a terrible automobile collision which left her in a state having to have both her legs reconstructed from the feet all the way to the pelvic bone, including the joints sockets, knee caps, and ankles. Needless to say, we have to take a trip to the pharmacy every month, and in both our opinions, it would be much better for both of us if that were NOT the case, and we remain hopeful that one day it will be the case, anything is possible through Christ who strengthens us. But in the meantime, when we forget which day we need to pi Jupiter medicine, we are not met with contempt, interrogation, and a general sense that we are being treated like a pair of criminals. Instead, we are treated like customers, who 'chose' the CVS establishment to bring our patronage, business, and money too in order to be served by proffesional pharmaceutical technicians who serve the public with humility, professionalism, patience, and kindness. And they do that by very simply 'communicating' which means to LISTEN, and to speak, professionally, and without preconceived notions.
I know its difficult to do a difficult job that is heavily scrutinized, administered, with alot of administration types of stress coming from the corporate interests. And I know that falls on.the shoulders of the ones at the bottom. Some people handle that stress with confidence, and professionalism, and some just take it out on the customers. Thanks CVS 301 N. Main Street team.
