As long as you have your ducks in a row, like confirming with the doctor’s office that it was sent or even just having a hard copy of the prescription. The pharmacy team will let you know right away what they can fill and what will take time.
As a diabetic, it’s having medication is a crucial day to day. So I triple check with all my providers - PCP, Pharmacy, and specialist providers that all my prescriptions are sent to the right place. Sometimes the error in paperwork is because a provider tried asking for a branded medication that isn’t simply covered or pre-approved by insurance.
As someone who has moved between several big box pharmacies and small pharmacies, for my medication. Sometimes just calling the pharmacy directly saves a ton of time. Also knowing what it is that you want or looking for.
