I feel like I'm talking to a disengenuous mechanic who ups the ante at every interaction. Costco's well known for a great deal with great after purchase care on tires- but if you've got 'em already and are just taking care of business, I'd seek elsewhere.
My experience:
First encounter, car is new to me and I knew tread was wearing low on one tire. Another tire has a slow leak. Ask for tire repair on the one, balance and rotate on all. Mistake at the register where they quadruple charge the rotation gets fixed quickly and quietly.
First call: treads too low on front tires, we won't rotate due to safety issue. The rear ones look almost new though. I ask if they have any tires, they offer me two fronts for 270. I'm lucky they're in stock. Okay. They'll fix the other tire for free. Sure, inspections due next month anyways.
Second call: Oops, those are run flats. We can't fix those (? Minis come standard in run flat, and are patchable. I'm not sure why this wasn't asked earlier). Okay. They'll sell me a full set of regulars for 480ish, 70 off for the inconvenience.
Time quite was okay accurate though, quoted hour 45, turned into two with the new tires.
