My wife and I were in Yakima for business and decided to visit your church yesterday, July 14. I've been to many churches in my lifetime and yours, without question, is the most unfriendly, cold, and uncaring church I've ever stepped inside of. Exactly one person took the time to come over and greet us even though we sat through almost the entire church service and Sabbath School lesson study. During the break between church service and Sabbath School, we sat there while many people walked right by us, except for that one kind lady who spoke...you know who you are...thanks! Even your pastor walked by 3 times and didn't even say 'hello'. Walking through the foyer twice, nobody bothered to stop and greet us and welcome us to your church. The official greeter did shake our hand as we entered and handed us a bulletin, but when I turned to say hello to the other greeter, she quickly looked away to avoid me. If your collective coldness is designed to discourage people of color from coming to your church, you've succeeded. Good job. And why must you have two lines for donations for worthy students...one for Hispanic kids and the other, clearly for white kids? Does it matter to whom you donate your money in support of Christian education? No worries, we'll never be back again!
