I got my ticket, got there, and got turned away because I’m a young adult with no children. My child was out of town and could not join me for this event. It was bad enough that a “free” community event had to be reserved via ticket, but then I get there, and they’re telling me I can’t participate because I was by myself with no kids? Are you kidding me? This is NOT how a church should behave, and not a good look for the church, and I made absolutely sure that Rob and another lady at the gate heard me CLEARLY on that! Rob’s excuse was that it has always been policy and that it was to “limit” people from coming in. Ok, so now, is Rob trying to say that they actually don’t want the community to participate in a community event?West Jackson invited the public, but wants to limit who can actually come? Is he serious right now??? At NO point in the Bible did Jesus EVER turn anyone away! At NO point in the Bible was age EVER a factor in anything Jesus engaged with in His community! Also, the advertisement for this event did not disclaim that children must be present. Don’t think about adding it either, because that’s just wrong and making the church look worse. West Jackson, you should absolutely be ashamed of yourself! The head pastor and I will be having a conversation regarding this matter, and this church and everyone in it needs to evaluate where they are with Christ!
