Read MoreI’m so saddened as I’ve read the negative reviews about my church. God lead me to the Refuge in May of 2022. I’d been in and out of church for several years. But when I went to the Salisbury location,I was greeted by smiling, warm people, male and female. I had been looking for a church , any church, that had a ministry for the over 50 crowd. So I asked my greeter if they had one. She smiled and said Yes, we sure do! It’s based out of our Kannapolis campus and it has over 150 members I couldn’t wait to go. They have Bible study on Wednesday at 11:00 she said. It’s a great way to get to know others. I went that Wednesday and have been going to the Refuge ever since. After attending for a few months, My heart was filled with Joy because I knew I had found the church for me. Pastor Jay is a phenomenal pastor. He practices what he preaches. He and his family serve our church faithfully. He preaching STRAIGHT FROM THE WORD. The app has notes with the scriptures and fill in the blank notes for our own personal reflection later in the week.
Now….is the Refuge perfect! Nope! Do you have to ask questions? YEP! But when you come to the doors, there are greeters welcoming you with smiles and hugs (if you like those, like me) . There’s an information desk where you can go and get any questions (well 99%) answered or you’ll be directed to the person who can answer it. There is an amazing Children’s ministry! Singles, women’s, men’s, couples, married/singles seniors! There’s a connection for everyone. But you have to seek! Please don’t judge our church by a one time experience. Though I understand that. For four weeks,I went to four different churches…seeking the “ONE”. Not one of those four, greeted me at all. I even received looks like “who are you?”. So I do understand. But this is NOT the Refuge. Please give this church a chance. Is there shortcomings…Yes!!!…gossip, pride, stubbornness, vanity, and so many more….But we are a church of saved sinners , not perfect saints. God bless you!
