I think true healing from the effects of this fellowship of churches is knowing how to forgive, chew the meat and spit out the bones. Know what was healthy and what was not. For example, healing nights where God totally healed my kidneys that were failing and another where I could cancel surgery on my back, WAS GOOD. God still heals today if we ask!
The control of personal lives and wrong misinterpretation of scripture is BAD.
Someone that hates every single thing about the fellowship no matter what is a sign to me they haven't healed. I went through this healing in 2014.
I spent months reading scripture and learning legalism and grace. I was able to see clearly what things they got right and what things they were teaching that were wrong.
(Galatians 3:1-3
[1] O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you that you should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed among you as crucified? [2] This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? [3] Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?)
I was able to see that many people were birthed into a movement without a full understanding of scripture and then they would go out and preach, teaching others wrongly. It goes on and on. I think the movement initially was AMAZING but it just slowly over the years evolved into what it is now.
(Revelation 2:4-5
[4] Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. [5] Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent.)
I think they believe putting God first means putting your church first. I learned that church activity does not equal my relationship with Christ. They teach:
1. God (which is equal to church meetings and activities)
2. Work, family, friends last.
But actually its:
1. God (personal walk with Christ)
2. Family (your FIRST ministry)
3. Work (to support your family)
4. Church (Sunday services and activities)
5. Friends and outside family.
Also, the one thing that really bothered me is the slander under the guise of caring for people and needing to pray for them. I had no idea how bad I was until I left and attended a church outside this fellowship. I never heard anything negative and I never heard anyone's personal business unless they personally told me. I was SHOCKED. It was by their example at this new church that I realized how badly I slandered. Slander is a wicked sin.
(Ephesians 4:31-32
[31] Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. [32] Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.)
Stepping back, I can appreciate what things they understand that are biblical, like evangelism and healing, and thank God for that. But I also understand now that although they believe they are saved by grace, they have to work very hard to keep their salvation and that includes being very, very busy with church events. Also, they believe you can easily lose your salvation.
(Galatians 5:4
[4] For if you are trying to make yourselves right with God by keeping the law, you have been cut off from Christ! You have fallen away from God’s grace.)
I continually pray for them that their eyes will be opened. Because ultimately, I desire for them to be free as well and truly care for their souls.
That's true healing
