My family desperately wanted Sacred City to be our church family. They believe and hold to solid doctrine, expositorily preach God's Word, are missional-driven and gospel-centered. There are genuine Christ-exalting people of God in this church. Sadly, the one (crucial) character trait lacking from the head pastor is humility. That is a huge red flag for us. When the shepherd isn't being an example of what Christ was here on earth as a humble servant and shepherd, it begins to trickle down into other areas of leadership. Our family experienced a lot of pride from leadership and spiritual narcissism in many ways. We felt judged and were even spiritually abused by a small group leader. Truth was not spoken in love and gentleness, but rather in hostility and judgement. We couldn't align ourselves with a church where this was happening.
