This is the best place in the area for a consistently quality khutbah. It’s tiny but it’s clean, quiet & discreet.
Too discreet for me. 😐 That’s why it doesn’t get five stars. If you’re in the area looking for it, it’s near impossible to find. There are no signs. If you do manage to find the parking lot, there is a discreet sign in a window that Muslims will recognize. Yet there are no labels on the doors for people to know where to enter. If you make it around the building to the women’s entrance, it’s locked with a combination. There are no instructions to contact someone to gain entrance to the masjid.
If you put your facility on Google for the public, then it’s only logical to follow-through with welcoming, directional signs for visitors.
There aren’t many jumuah prayer options in the area. This remains the best one if you want to listen to a solid khutbah in peace. If you want to sit on the musallah and dhikr in peace, this is your spot.
If you go to jumuah to socialize, if you have unruly children who haven’t been taught how to behave in the masjid, if you’re looking for an active community with events for families, this is not for you. You’ll find what you’re looking for at the other one.
The attendees here are kind and friendly. The imam is humble and welcoming. He delivers well thought-out, well-organized sermons. When he has a guest khateeb, they are of the same quality.
Not having a prominent sign however, seems like there’s something to hide. Are we ashamed to have a presence in Palm Bay? I feel a little shame going to such a discreet masjid, as though I’m hiding to pray. Please put a sign up & be proud American Muslims. We have the same right to worship as everyone else.
