This is a mission chapel that exclusively celebrates the Traditional Latin Mass (TLM). Our Lady of Victory has a very devout and ever growing community of faithful parishioners who love our Lady and our Lord. The priests here celebrate the mass of the ages the way it’s been done for a millennia, here the Eucharist is treated with the utmost reverence. We are also lucky enough to have a daily Latin Mass in Las Vegas. If you want pure Catholicism, this is the place to be.
If you are new to the Latin Mass it can be a little intimidating seeing it for the first time. You might be worried about doing something wrong or that the parishioners will be judging you or that you’re not really participating if you don’t understand Latin. Worry not! This couldn’t be further from the truth, indeed everyone will just be happy to see a new face. This humble community is very social and welcoming. Both Father Trummer and Father Young are very welcoming to new faces as well. I would encourage you to stick around after mass and meet the people and the priests as after every Sunday Mass many of the parishioners hang out and have food and coffee in St. Anne’s Hall next to the rectory.
Every few weeks Father Trummer also teaches a Catechism class after mass in the social hall. He reviews two chapters from the Baltimore Catechism no.3 and answers any questions people have. There’s usually food and coffee and socializing afterwards.
There’s also a book store with an abundance of traditional Catholic reading material and 1962 Missals for purchase.
For new converts looking to receive traditional Catechism, Our Lady of Victory offers the best Catechesis you can receive in Las Vegas. Talk to one of the priests if you have any inquiries and they will let you know the requirements for Catechesis, but since it’s typically one on one there’s no specific start dates like you would find at an RCIA program.
If you plan on attending for the first time don’t worry about following along or trying to understand what’s happening, just appreciate the beauty of the Mass and take it in. The dress code isn’t very strict, just don’t wear shorts, yoga pants, sandals, or a hat during mass.
Communion here is only given on the tongue, and if you’re not yet a Catholic please don’t go up during communion to receive the Eucharist.
