I am incredibly frustrated and disappointed with the actions of Pastor Cable and his group when they came to my door. I have a sign very clearly stating, “PLEASE DO NOT KNOCK OR RING DOORBELL. Dog will bark, baby will cry and things will get ugly. Please call or text and leave packages at the door.” This sign was placed for a reason, especially considering that I have a newborn baby and two dogs. Yet, Pastor Cable not only moved my sign but also rang my doorbell, completely ignoring my request. This caused my dogs to go wild and woke up my baby after it took 45 minutes to finally get him down.
I had just given birth five days ago, and opening the door to deal with this was incredibly frustrating, especially while I was pumping and in my nightgown. As a believer, it took everything in me to remain calm. I understand people may want to share their faith, but please understand that not everyone is in the same situation. The sign was clear and specific for a reason — it wasn’t a joke. I hope moving forward, your church takes these signs seriously and respects people’s space and boundaries, especially when there’s a new baby or other specific needs at home.
Please, learn to respect the signs that people put in place for their own well-being. Thank you.
