We attended the contemporary service March 25, 2018. We are building a new house in the area after traveling all states and attending worship most Sundays. This congregation ties only one other for most unfriendly. We found a parking place down a street. Big sanctuary was locked. Found the service in building 3. An older lady held the door but didn't speak. We walked inside. We saw round tables, a food bar and row chairs. We sat at one round table, moved to another, then to the row in front of the stage. I don't know about the food bar, if you needed tickets or who it was for. They were having hotdogs after service and a kids bouncy house, but I don't know where you went for that either. A guy started singing and then he had the message. It was too dark to read my Bible. They ended with communion with a frown-faced woman holding the loaf, she said no blessings. After the service we stood around, moved around and one young man spoke to us. I met the worship leader. He turned out to be the Sr. Pastor. I guess we won't be hearing from them, there was no mention or place to leave our contact info. They sell advertising who they sponsor in their service bulletin. Beautiful facilities and nice performance. Had to work hard to focus on worshipping Christ in spite of feelings of isolation. The leader told the people to bring visitors next week. Guess we should've jumped up and down, shouted that we're here! Sad. Who knows if they have other ministries.
Update: We have visited 5 times since moving into town, including attending connection classes. We asked the pastor how we could join, after having no contact from submitting our visitor information. He appeared befuddled and said he thought there was a class for that next month. So we phoned the office and was transferred to the voice mail of the Minister of Hospitality in charge of visitation and membership. We never received a return call.
