The park is stunning! I can't believe it's all free and has plenty of parking. I'd definitely check it out if you want to stretch your legs in Hilo.

Beautiful grounds well keep. The trees, asian bridges, and water are so calming. I loved to see many families with kids and elders make it a picnic. I found my meditation spot and connector with nature and others.

This was a 35 minute walk from Hilo cruise pier terminal. I ventured out to make it and found it was worth the trek . What a beautiful place, it was surrounded by huge trees 🌳 and greenery. There were manicured gardens and ponds as...Read More

It was free, which is always a huge plus in my book! We parked for free on the street. The trees were beautiful and demanded attention. The bridges were nice that you can walk over to the other ponds. Once you're done checking this area...Read More

Absolutely beautiful. Unexpected sight was the itty bitty (very technical term ha!) crabs living under the Japanese structures. Queen Lili'uokalani was very special! One of the Banyan trees featured in her garden is dedicated to Babe Ruth. Learning about the Banyan trees was pretty cool,...Read More

BEAUTIFUL Japanese park just across the road from the water. We ate at Hilo Burger, then spent about an hour and a half here walking off our meal. Adorable paths and ponds full of fish, statues, grassy areas, trees... it was just really relaxing! Lots...Read More

This Japanese garden is very nice, quite and peaceful. We really enjoyed it and had a great time. Certainly worth a visit when in town. The garden is open to the public and there is no entrance fee.

This garden is a beautiful place to take a walk, have lunch, and spend time with friends and family. The pictures speak for themselves! As for accessibility - there are restrooms, ample parking, and shaded spaces with benches. There is also a popular seafood/fish market...Read More

This park is a beautiful and free park about halfway between the cruiseport and farmers market. Not only did we see wild yellow canaries, but blue nosed doves, and even the imported mongoose. Mongoose are reportedly a real menace, and carry diseases - so don't ever...Read More

This park is beautiful and free. You can also walk over to Coconut Island and read the history of the island, which is facinating.

The group that cares for this park is so passionate it warms my heart, even when the bad Hilo elements try to spoil the beauty there. The lawns are always mowed, trees trimmed, trash picked up. All the multi-level projects like cleaning the ponds and...Read More

It is so interesting in historic. The Flora and Fauna they are beautiful, as well as the grounds. You will see a wonderful tree with its roots covering the lava flow, and many other sites.
