First of all I want to give honor to my Savior. He is the leader, guidance and forever protector of my life, without him I am nothing. I would like to give an honest summary of my experience at this House of worship.
Let me say this was my second attempt to praise at this church.
Today I woke up and wanted to worship In his house. I got dressed eager to find a place to call home. As soon as myself and sister walked in, thier was a usual greeter, not warn didn't introduce herself however immediately asked our names, NO welcome just the rules and adhereces of the church, (bathroom area, cell phone policy, good policy.) As oppossed to being a welcome it felt completely opposite. I introduced my as well as my sister.
We proceeded to take our places as directed by the usher, the usual ceremony of how a service goes, went. I placed a mint in my mouth and continue to pray and listen to God's word delivered by the Deacons and Ministers.
In the middle of me praising I was approached by the same unwelcomer greeter, remember I wasn't given her name. So she taps me as I am listening and say. Excuse me, I'm gonna ask that you remove your gums please. I then said it's not gum, it's a mint. She said OK. I continued to try and enjoy the church service, singing praying for myself, my family and the church itself. No more than 25 minutes later I'm approached again, same greeter as my head is bowed in prayer and says, excuse me, I know you said that you had didn't have gum but the pastor asked that if you could remove it.
I then said the mint is GONE!.
I politely got up and whispered to my sister that I was leaving, she followed out, seeing clearly how disturbed I was.
Never received the message because they were too concerned about my mint, the thought and gesture that I was lying and my an misconception or judgement of my age, my hair was in two pom poms, My faith, my last name is Abdullah Hasan.
Whatever the case I pray for your pastor and church as a whole because as a first time visitor, it was one of the worst experience s being treated that way. HORRIBLE treatment.
God bless you in Jesus NAME,
Treva Abdullah Hasan
