My family and I started attending this church in February. We hadn't been to church regularly in years (since we became parents - our kids are very attached) and we had reallllly tall orders for a church after most all churches tried were BORING, empty, pretentious and we never feel like we fit in. If I was going to get up early on the weekend, get 3 small kids out the door and go to church every Sunday, it was going to have to blow my mind.
TL,DR His Hands blew my mind.
We initially tried this church because of the cool playground which excited my small children and we were hoping they'd enjoy it. However, what we found at this church is more than I ever could have imagined! After leaving our first service, my husband and I both looked at each other and were like, "yes, we are for sure coming back".
The Pastor, Justin, is the real deal. Not only is he filled with Godly wisdom, but he is also well spoken, easy to follow, and pretty dang funny. His sense ofhumor immediately caught my attention and his ability to go deep and bring you to see new things in new ways is inspiring.
I need a fun, ENGAGING leader who doesn't just give a Joel Olsteen "posi vibes" message without any substance and someone who also doesn't make me pull out my phone from boredom.
The kind of church I want to be a part of includes in their teachings a healthy dose of historical references like biblical history, genealogy, sociopolitical issues, relationships etc. I have read the Bible and grew up very familiar with it so most churches just regurgitate what I've already heard thousands of times. Justin is able to bring new light to all the stories . He highlights the history surrounding his message and makes sure to bring it into today's life so it is applicable to anyone and everyone. I also appreciate his courage in today's climate to be able to say no, not everything is "okay" and good and acceptable in Jesus' eyes, yet he always makes sure to remind everyone that they are loved unconditionally and valued and Jesus can help change their hearts.
The kids team is welcoming and understanding and I am so grateful that my kids found a place they love and feel like they fit in too! My daughter is very shy and nervous and I wasn't expecting her to stay in the class but she actually loves it!
There is still so much to check out here; I want to try the coffee shop I JUST realized they have last Sunday! I'd also like to get more involved somehow.
I am so grateful for His Hands! I have found a church that I am actually excited about and look forward to every week! I never even knew that was possible!
