Read MoreHaving floated around CT churches since college, I found First Church by attending Mastering Motherhood. After attending a few services, I can honestly say it felt like coming home. Everyone has been warm and welcoming, honestly caring.I’ve been attending off and on (due to COVID and having a young family) since 2018, and finally became a member in Fall 2023.You will find beautiful organ hymns or contemporary music with guitar and drums depending when you come. More importantly, you will hear a solid, Bible-preached service from the heart of Pastor Willard, or another church member of it is a special event. Services are combined monthly to get the congregation together. Come for the Word, stay for the coffee!!The church is very involved in the community, holding open its doors to programs for many populations. Two of which I am aware of are Mastering Motherhood and child programs (can’t remember the names atm). The church makes it a point to be involved in Bicycles on Main, trick or treating and many other events too.As of recent months the online streaming has grown so much! There are now key verses and music lyrics typed for those of us viewing from home (thank you!!).I’ve found the people to be welcoming and supportive, non-judgmental, come as you are!
