Compassion Church has a great Pastor, you can feel he and his wife are anointed by the Holy Spirit when they speak of God in their teaching of Gods word. I have actually been brought to tears on Sundays messages that Pastor Myron delivers. I feel this is a church (my thoughts only) is based around young families with small children and older children which is great! I do not go every Sunday, but when I did start going a few years ago it was a small congregation and has now grown so much! This is a good thing. However I have only met besides the pastor and his wife a few women. Because it has grown so much, I feel like just another person in a crowd of others. If I have any complaint at all of Compassion church, it would be this. I signed up to BBQ, and make any desserts with a member of the church. I wouldn’t mind helping in other areas, but once I signed up to serve, whomever does the scheduling doesn’t communicate with the People who signed up to serve before making out the schedule to serve. Well at least not with me. Three times now I have been placed on the schedule to serve in an area of the Church and all three times I was not spoken to to see if I was available, which I was not. I was not in town one of the times and another time, I had company in from out of town, this last time I was not available because I injured my foot and am in a boot. They just (again my opinion) assume because you have signed up to serve and again I don’t have a problem serving, that you will be available and that is very frustrating to me. I like to be called and asked if I am available to help. This causes me to want to look for another church home because I feel like the church in this area of being a servant for the Lord and the Church, the person handling this task, doesn’t care if a member is available or not, they will put you on the schedule anyway. You don’t know what your in the schedule for until you open the link in the email they send out or text. It breaks my heart to have told the last person who texted me to open the link and confirm my schedule for serving the church to take me off the list of servers because there’s no guarantee that I will be available to serve on the day the person chose for me to come or the task at hand.
Communication is huge with me and I feel like whomever handles this task of scheduling members to serve in all areas at the Church, should communicate with members before scheduling. Other than this frustration, Compassion Church is a good family church for young families. They always have yard games to keep the littles entertained after church, a bouncy house type toy, they throw great Celebrations for the different Holidays, they always have coffee, water, etc. for their members. Compassion Church has Men’s night and Ladies night and provides food and drinks. Compassion Church also holds Super Bowl BBQ’s and do allot of BBQ’s to raise money for their Youth programs. I would encourage anyone to check out the Church. I am 62 years old and have allot of old school ideas on how people should be treated no matter where you are.
