I’ve gone to church on and off my entire life. New to Venice Fl so looking for a new church. Went here two Sundays ago and this past Sunday. Very welcoming from starting at the parking lot, always a red flag but I keep an open mind.
Jason, the pastor, sent out a great message which had me wanting more.
Returned the following Sunday. New pastor this time. Dylan.
Noticed during the sermon they encouraged sticking to one church and not shopping around for a church.
Good thing that I like to feel each situation out.
As Dylan gave his sermon I felt empathy for his story and supportive. But as he hyped the crowd up I realized I heard this exact same sermon at another church. I thought to myself. My mind must be playing tricks on me. So I went to google review. Sure enough I found my answer. Under yelp there is a review and the reviewer mentions the church having a theme “welcome to the movies”
Then I remembered where I had heard Dylan’s sermon about how he changed his life by giving up alcohol, the porn and saving his marriage. Another church I had attended in Ruskin Fl (Wellspring)did the same theme series “welcome to the movies” and the preacher of that church gave the exact same sermon as Dylan.
Luckily for me, I’m trying to find the best church, and I shop around.
Two completely different churches, two completely different pastors. Both giving the exact same sermon to appeal to people’s weakness to make you feel relatable.
I hope to one day find a real authentic church someday. Until then I’ll keep shopping for that church and I will keep my senses on high alert.
Also “check my church” did a deep dive into Coastlife church. It’s worth the read.
