Picturesque church in historic Shrewsbury. The beautiful graveyard surrounding the church has important graves including that of John F. Grimke (1752-1819), Chief Justice of the South Carolina Supreme Court, who died in Long Branch where he came to recuperate from his disease.

With a welcoming and affirming congregation, a rich history and long-standing members, and a church school that is growing steadily, Christ Church offers something for everyone. The church itself is absolutely beautiful! Five stars. Highly recommend.

Our youth group helped the preservation project for the historic cemetery. The congregation welcomed us and gave the teens an appreciation for the history of the church, founded in 1702, and those who helped build our world who are resting there. Something that...Read More
