There has been a mass exodus of long time members in the last 18-24 months. Attending a newer church that has evolved from the poor leadership makes you a traitor. People have been removed as Bible study leaders, asked not to be members of the worship team or allow children of those who left Central to re-enroll at the preschool, Learning Planet for 2024-25. They lost all but 1 of the preschool teachers that taught there 2023-24. They were give a 5 page job description that reiterated that teachers will submit to the authority of the pastors and elder board. They listed duties for teachers outside their hours as requirements of the job.
There is an anemic attempt at a men’s group.
What once was a thriving church with full classrooms of children on Sundays, full tables of women on Tuesdays and a bustling Kids Small Group on Tuesdays. We had an amazing Youth Group and Young Adult groups.
All the pastors and leaders we had starting in 2023 left by the end of 2023.
It’s been heart breaking. My walk with Christ was strengthened there. I invited friends and strangers alike to events and Bible studies there. My marriage was made new there. They prayed for me as a struggled to conceive and rejoiced when we had our children. They attended Learning Planet, KSG, were dedicated and baptized there. I was a member 17 years.
Unless and until the current pastors and elder board are removed and replaced with penitent, humble, God fearing, Christ following men filled with the Holy Spirit and that put on the full armor of God- DO NOT GO THERE.
I do recommend other churches including Grace Chapel, Westside Christian Fellowship, Faith Community, Desert Community Church and South Valley-Antelope Valley.
