This is the one place where I can actually go for peace and quiet to meditate and contemplate, as far as churches go. The chapel is open to the public for Mass, and remains open to the public until 5 PM. They keep it open so people can come and pray and meditate. The Carmelite sisters are absolutely amazing! I've even gone there on two silent retreats. They were individual retreats, not structured. Over the years I have become friends with some of the sisters there, and they have been a great help to me when I needed it. The stained-glass windows are beautiful as well as the rest of the decor in the chapel. It is truly a place of reverence, so it differs in atmosphere from a regular parish church.
