We have been wanting to try this church out for awhile, since we moved from San Diego to Treasure Island, FL a year ago and we have been looking for a church and school to eventually send our kids. When we arrived, there were ushers outside that I spoke to one about child care and he personally showed me the "cry room", which we sat down next to. There were plenty of kids in church so we did not feel out of the ordinary with our 3 kids making racket. I didn't notice that our son was shy to go up to the children's sermon and before I knew it a mom in front of us led him up there, and after the sermon she warmly introduced herself to my wife and related about the kids, I guess her husband is a deacon. Pastor Stern gave a good, interesting sermon interlaced with some humor... and later after the service ended, as we were filing by he shook my hand and gave me his card and said to call him. I think that is a really good touch for a pastor to really notice and caringly welcome visitors (I have a brother that is a professor at Concordia University, LCMS and he tells me that many times churches get so wrapped up in operations and their immediate congregation that they forget about bringing new sheep into the flock... well, this church was def not like that.) I just thought this church was real warm friendly and down to earth, especially compared to some that we have experienced. So I wanted to leave this 5 star review because we probably still won't be attending this church even so because it is too far away from us and also because 9:30am seems to be too early for our family to get up and get our butts to church! Arggh. Lol... We are more the 11am stragglers, sad to say. But this is a great church for anyone interested :)
