This is THE PLACE for gyros in the Plantation,FL area.
I've tried 5 eastern Mediterranean pita/kabob +gyros type places. This is one of the few remaining which still carves the gyros meat from the roast on the rotisserie right before serving the food. Other places, they're using frozen, rectangular square edged gyros meat which looks pan-fried at one place, microwaved at another; never good, passable at best.
For$11, we always get a very generous gyros pita packed full of gyros meat and fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, mixed green + white sour cream like gyros sauce. The pita is perfect as ordered, no need to tweak it. It's big enough so I don't need fries etc. Just look at the picture I attached.
I added a bottled drink to further help the store out.
This storefront diner is spotlessly clean. Floor, table, restroom, kitchen.
I pay in cash if I can, to help the business avoid the 2-3% card fee. We NEED this place to stay open cuz there's nothing which comes close for gyros which I've found, and I've been searching.
Note:
For those from Chicago, my reference for a gyros sandwich was Spiros of Rosemont which was on Mannheim Road near what had been the Rosemont Horizon Stadium. For those who know of Spiros, this place, Gyros Grill of Plantation, FL is as close as I've found in all my travels over the years after Spiros closed.
