My mom and my sister went to Clermont Wine Exchange last week for a glass of wine. When they went to the counter none of the three associates at the counter greeted them or paid them any mind. That didn’t deter them though, they went and looked through the wine selection and were curious if they had a low sugar wine. My sister approached the counter simply to ask if there was such an option available, and was met with an incredibly nasty once over and attitude and was told “no” without being given a different recommendation or being further addressed. While it’s understandable they wouldn’t have certain wines available, what is completely unnecessary and unacceptable is to treat prospective customers with such disrespect and rudeness. My family is Latinx, and based on the attitudes of the employees, I wouldn’t be surprised if they were being discriminated against. Overall, the vibe of the entire establishment is pretty condescending and I have personally been racially profiled and treated as a suspect when perusing the shops in this center. All of this is funny since they don’t have many customers in the first place and you would think they would at least be respectful of customers when they enter trying to purchase goods. I’m not expecting the red carpet to be rolled out for me or my family when entering a shop, but I do expect to not be discriminated and treated rudely. Make your own choice, but I definitely DO NOT recommend.
