Bar Sorana in Boca Raton

I had been here years ago but tonight I must say we were a little disappointed as the whole evening I felt we were rushed out. We got out food so fast. Even the service was just soso for an expensive place like this. My Chilean sea bass was not hot just slightly warm, felt like it was just warmed up. If we had not ordered an espresso which was very good we would have been in and out in 45 mins. I much prefer down the Seating should be at least 2 hrs.I much prefer down the road at Angelos.

This is the BEST Italian food you can find in South Florida! I've been to Italy and the food there isn't better than this place. We have ordered so many dishes here and every single one of them is outstanding. They really cater to a high end crowd. The parking is limited on the street but the valet is a nice option. The locals walk here from the fancy neighborhoods nearby.Update: the last time we were in, they tried to rush us out to turn the table over. Removed some of our food while we were still eating. Absolutely horrible service last time. Leaving 4 stars because we normally get better service.

Update:Just tried the veal special last night with eggplant and cheese and more on top it was great .Our table also ordered the pounded veal chop on the bone parmesan style which was also amazing and huge.The Frutti de Mare was also delicious and large portion.For an appetizer, four of us shared the special huge meatball that they had with amazing stuff inside.Expensive but great food and great service. I really like that they have delicious Paleo choices.I ordered the jumbo shrimp there which were grilled and over spinach with broccoli and cheese. It was just amazing. We also had the muscles in white wine which were yummy. Everybody's entree was just wonderful in the service was great. My only complaint would be that it is very noisy and very busy.Just ate outside last night and if you want less noise then book your table outsideParking: Valet parking and you can get your car washed while you eat

The service here is the best thing about this place.It was recommended by my server to get the giant meatball. I was upset about this because it was not very good. Very bland in flavor. The center had onion pepper and prosciutto, something I’ve never seen before, and did not like. The prosciutto in the center was dry.I ordered rigatoni a la vodka with chicken the pasta was a bit over cooked and the vodka sauce was like water. The chicken was the best part of this dish. And most definitely not worth over $30 price point they charge for it. Overall I was not impressed with the food here, nor would I recommend either of these dishes.

It was a rather disappointing experience for such an upscale restaurant. We had a table outside on Palmetto Park Road (downtown Boca Raton). We might as well have been eating in a pit stop at the Daytona International Speedway. There really should be a noise ordinance for that area. The whole time was deafening. The food was good, but not extravagant for the high price we paid. The service was good, but again, not exceptional considering the price. Also, unless you want to park and walk a few blocks to the restaurant, you are forced to take valet parking. Unfortunate for our friends who chose to use it, they had to wait a half hour to get their car (it was busy on a Saturday night). We had parked on the street about a quarter mile away, because we never saw where to leave our car for the valet. The whole experience would have been better with a table inside the restaurant. I was also surprised that there were no salads served with any of our entrees (though they were pricey enough to include one).I would implore the mayor of Boca to start fining drivers who use that road as their own personal drag strip. Again, a law about the noise level allowed for a car or motorcycle would be in order.

This place was good but I can't say great we've been trying to get into this place for the last few times we've been here and I can honestly say it was really good food but not great I've been to other Italian restaurants that were better. I got one of their signature veal dishes and thought that it was just okay. We ordered our food and literally within 10 minutes it was there to quick of service for a fancy restaurant like this. I felt like we were rushed. would definitely go back but I would not put this at the top of my list for restaurants to visit.

One of the best Italian restaurants in Boca. The chicken parmigiana reminded me of Craig’s in LA, absolutely thin and delicious. The homemade linguine and clams was terrific. And I’m not a fan of US tiramisu but it was also great. In Italy it’s 20x better in general. Service was attentive, quick and most importantly, friendly. Also a great people watching restaurant thats busy 7 days a week. Definitely worth a visit.

Excellent food, service, atmosphere. First of all, the tomatoes that arrive as part of a house bruschetta alone were an indication of the level of quality that Trattoria Romana delivers. The tomatoes were ripe, flavorful, and so fresh - a much higher quality than what you typically get from grocery stores and other restaurants. Our waiter Marco was fantastic and took great care of us throughout the meal. I can’t wait to return.

As Boca local, I love their sister restaurant La Nouvelle Maison. However I feel like Trattoria Romana’s food has gone downhill. The pasta is not that fresh. The sauce is too heavy. It’s just very disappointing.Service and ambience are the only reason why I keep going. Skip their pasta.

Great Italian restaurant in Boca Raton! The service was great, Peter helped me and my wife during our dinner and was very nice, funny and efficient. To start they brought us some bread and bruschetta that were really good and free. I had a soup (Pasta e Fagioli) that was spectacular, and had a pasta as my entree (Papadelle Short Rib) that was fantastic. Totally recommend the place and these dishes.

Fantastico. We arrived for our reservation at 6:30pm on a Monday, the restaurant was FULL. We were seated right away and attended to by waitstaff. Our waiter was excellent, recommended a delicious Chianti. The bruschetta was the best we ever had. We had the meatball app, eggplant app, langostine, veal romano, shrimp over pasta and lobster ravioli. Our food came out very timely and hot. Everything was so delicious we had very little left over and took dessert to go. One minor thing was the runners were fairly quick to pick up our plates/glasses and a few things were taken before we were actually finished with them. However, we will definitely return to Trattoria Romana it was excellent and very very popular so we'd probably stick with a weeknight.

Sadly, we have had many great special occasion meals here. Based on the prices, we expect outstanding food and service. While our recent experience included excellent service, the food left something to be desired. The plates vame out hot but he food on the plates was barely warm, even after it was sent back. Don't order the day old red velvet cake or the Luke warm cappuccino. Sorry, we won't be back.

4 of us had dinner there. I ordered one of their veal special dishes. It was $60. It came with carrots. I asked for spinach instead of carrots. There was a $6. Charge for that! What? On a $60 entree.I asked for the manager and he stood by this policy. They made it very clear they didn’t care if I came back. My entree never mentioned a brown gravy in it. The food in general was average.The pompous attitude there is amazing.We had very little alcohol and our bill was $100. PP without dessert.So over rated in every aspect !

Best Italian restaurant in Boca, hands down. Fantastic service, food and atmosphere! Jill the head reservationist is fantastic! Helpful, accommodating and a pleasure to speak to!My favs are the Veal Romano, Snapper Oreganata, Linguini with White Clam sauce and the highlight is the most amazing homemade Strawberry Short Cake!!!

We’ve had many meals over the years at Trattoria Romano, however, despite fantastic service, we experienced a glitch. A side of spinach needed to be returned twice, and then it’ was still not hot. It was removed from the check, but disappointing. The coffee was not hot on two separate servings, which makes for a lesser dessert experience. When paying the prices one does at Trattoria Romano, I expect everything to be on par, but it wasn’t. Our experience did not live up to prior food experiences there. Disappointing.

Food was excellent Server very goodThe negative we stood like cattle in a small bar area waiting for out table for 35 minutes.They do NOT honor reservationsThey obviously overbook and do not allow enough time between tables. There were at least 5 other groups waiting in the packed bar area with the same story. Not even an apology when being seated.

My birthday dinner this evening- my Paso Robles Chardonnay was old- I never return anything, but had to, because I know old wine. Then my dinner was wrong, so that came after my husband and son were almost done with their dinner (which I told them to eat because their meal was hot). My dining experience felt extremely rushed. I feel bad that my husband tried to venture out from our norm….this place is very loud and cramped. This is not my first rodeo at this place, but I will never return for a celebration. Trattoria Romano is fine if you don’t expect good delivery of service. I’m sorry…but that was my experience this evening.

Edit: Just had to edit this review 6 months later to say the food has actually gotten even more delicious. The food at this restaurant is absolutely unbelievable. I tried to order a few new things on the menu today and I was just blown away. Try the lobster tails if they're on special, I was absolutely mind-blown by them. This is probably my favorite restaurant in all of Boca Raton now. I will probably start going weekly LOL. Also the management is exceptional here. They really care and so does their waitstaff and server assistants. Their bar is also exceptional, best drinks ever!Easily the best Italian spot in boca, if not the surrounding area. Daniel is one of the best servers there, highly recommend asking for him.Food is consistently incredible, they are very organized. I highly recommend only going here with a reservation as almost every table is full by 6:30.Valet parking is organized and efficient.Parking: There is a good valet team out front.

Blown away by this authentic (by that I mean super delicious), charming, welcoming restaurant. Bread on the table right away, yummy bruschetta, seasoned tomatoes so fresh we couldn't get enough. Our server was delightful and hilarious - "Everything on the menu is good, the service..."We shared a giant stuffed meatball that clearly had come from the God of All Meatballs Herself, may marinara be with Her. We all agreed it was the best meatball ever.I ordered the frutti di mare that had the most flavorful broth, the seafood fresh and perfectly cooked.And here is the obligatory: "I live in New York City and this was some of the best Italian food I've ever had!"Can't wait to go back next time we are in town.

I visited with friends several weeks ago. I used my debit card for my bill. The next day the amount I had signed for had been refunded and a new charge more than double was taken out of my account! I wish I was leaving a 5 star review but that would have required that the management would have taken responsibility for this problem. Sadly, they did not. It fell on me to call and chase them. Taking unauthorized money from someone's account is fraudulent! You need to take personal responsibility, do an internal investigation and reinstate the funds as quickly as possible. Not the month it took me chasing you and having to get my bank involved. A formal apology would also have been able to restore my confidence in your establishment.

This place. The bread they bring out is outstanding along with the tomato, etc. The service is excellent. But... let's talk about the food. My mother came here from Bologna when she was pregnant with me. Having an "off the boat" mother makes eating Italian food in the USA very hard. Let me straight. 90% of "Italian" food in the USA is trash. Bright red sauce that tastes like aluminum, etc. is what you find in most places.Now... THIS PLACE: OUTSTANDING! The pasta is cooked exactly right. Portions are fantastic. The quality is excellent. I need to go back sooner than later.The desserts are MASSIVE and delicious. The place is busy - so do keep that in mind. But if you know where to sit it looks like you can find some out-of-the-way tables... I'm not even complaining about that, the food is just that good.

We have been patrons of Trattoria Romana for many years, and the food and service never cease to be anything but amazing!!! Unfortunately for me, I am highly allergic to shellfish because the night we were there the specials were an unbelievable seafood platter that was a beautiful display of lobster, shrimp, scallops, mussels and calamari (the table next to us had ordered it and I was almost thinking it was worth my 2 epi-pens it looked so scrumptious! Only, my epi-pens may not do the trick and I didn't feel like it was worth the trip to the hospital, too, lol!) The other amazing special was two New England lobsters also ordered by the table directly next to us (must've been non-native Floridian's, lol) but it also looked simply amazing! One thing I always look forward to at Trattoria Romana is the tomato and bruchetta-like breads they serve as complimentary appetizers. So yummy! There's just no way you can go home hungry after dining here! Our server, Anika, was delightful, knowledgeable, and very quick! My boyfriend is a commercial fisherman, so he's always compelled to ask to ask very specific questions in regards to any seafood that is mentioned on the menu. I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass special and par for the course, he asked Anika some questions, and she answered correctly and quickly! My dinner was amazing! The portions are HUGE! Do not underestimate what you're able to eat! Trattoria Romana may be expensive but with the exception of seafood which I don't feel is something I want to reheat the next day, everything else on the menu would definitely be worth bringing home in a "doggie-bag" for a bonus second meal 😋! My boyfriend ordered the lamb chops, which he said were amazing (I am a pescatarian, so I couldn't tell you personally). My mother, who lives across the street from Trattoria Romana and used to eat there and go to the bar weekly in her younger days, was eating light and ordered the Eggplant bake appetizer as her dinner. This portion was actually bigger than most dinner sized portions at most other restaurants of the caliber of Trattoria Romana! It was also delicious!The only drawback of Trattoria Romana (and this is NOT the fault of the restaurant itself) is if you decide to eat outside, which we did as the weather was unseasonably cool and breezy, you are sitting right on the busy corner of Palmetto Park Rd. and Fifth Ave. (God help you if it's rush hour and the bridge goes up, which it does every 30 minutes whether there are boats or not!) So, do take that into consideration if anyone in your party is hard of hearing or you simply want a quiet dinner. Inside does have some areas of quiet seating, but I would suggest calling ahead and making reservations and specifically asking for a quiet area and NOT booking through Open Table. The plus side of this, though is there's great people watching in this area if you're like me and enjoy that type of thing!Another important thing to note about Trattoria Romana is their incredible valet parking service! There is NO street parking available unless you are extremely lucky and willing to walk quite a bit. It's just much easier to take advantage of their complimentary valet parking services.Trattoria Romana is ALWAYS a mainstay for me and my family. I definitely recommend it to ANYONE and I hope that it becomes a mainstay for theirs. I have beautiful memories with family members who are no longer with me, being at Trattoria Romana. These days, it takes something very special for a restaurant to stay in business year after year. Trattoria Romana does this constantly! If you're not into splurging on dinner then just go to the bar one evening. I promise once you do and see the food coming out of the kitchen you won't be able to resist coming back for a sit down meal!Thank you so much, Trattoria Romana for another great dinner and to our awesome server, Anika, thanks for rocking it and impressing my boyfriend because that means I get another great dinner!Vegetarian options: Quite a few pasta dishes available! You do have to read through the entire description of the dish as there may be some meat in the dish somewhere and the vegetarian options aren't clearly marked.Dietary restrictions: Always mention ANY AND ALL ALLERGIES TO FOOD! I am HIGHLY allergic to shellfish! I know a great restaurant and server when I mention it and they can show me which options are safe to eat.Parking: Don't even try to find street parking! Not worth the hassle. Use the quick and easy complimentary valet parking!

For an appetizer we had the crab cakes which were amazing. As entrees we had lamb chops, sea bass and ravioli. It was good, but nothing amazing for the price. We had cheesecake for dessert and it was delicious. The service was subpar. Our waiter spoke so quickly we had to ask several times for him to repeat the specials. He never came to check on us, and then forgot about our table at the end. While we had a great time, I think we will be going elsewhere for Italian food next time.

Upscale Italian restaurant. I thought the service was excellent and based on mixed reviews it all depends on who your waiter is and we had a great one. The food was excellent. My only complaint is the Langostino dish. $75 for crustaceans that are neither lobsters or prawns. What a joke. Other than that we really enjoyed the food and service. Bring money… a lot of it.

One word: pricey. Ok maybe two words: very pricey. You are already paying $30+ for. chicken Parm dinner and then to add six bucks to swap a side dish from veggies to pasta... are u kidding me? NO matter how good the good it that's terrible. This is one of those places people run to to brag they webt to not cause of good food. Food was average and like I said very pricey.

Food was great as it usually is. We ordered the strawberry shortcake as we always do, but it was taken off the table after only being half eaten. We were in good conversation with our party of 6 and didn’t notice that it had been taken away. When we mentioned something to the waiter about it, he replied “they are trying to clear the table to get the next people in”. No apology really, or accommodation. Very disappointing, we always look forward to that dessert when we come and feel that the situation could be handled differently

A truly unique dining experience. One of my favorite restaurants. The Veal Parmigiano melted in your mouth. The martinis were perfect. I loved the strawberry shortcake. So light and fresh. Nicholas's service was impeccable. Very special evening. And the valet service was unforgettable. So friendly and welcoming. Flawless experience. Perfect! Will always visit when in S.E. FL.
