I grew up in the midwest in a town of about 4,000 people.
I remember going to the pharmacy on Main Street and being welcomed by someone who knew my name, my family, and genuinely cared about our well-being.
There are many places one simply feels like a “number’ in a system. That probably happens more in modern health-care than anywhere else, until and unless you’re literally in front of your doctor or pharmacist often… Facing a battle with cancer after moving home from abroad, we knew almost no one in this community and we decided to use the Albertsons pharmacy at Jeffrey Rd. for no other reason than convenience.
However, since the first visit, it is clear to us that it actually must have been providence that lead us here...
From the first visit, the pharmacist, Jenna (whom I think has a PhD, by the way) was extremely knowledgeable, helpful, patient, and answered all of our questions about new and hard to understand prescriptions my wife would be taking. She even spent time with me in the aisles helping me choose a particular medication for my wife's particular kind of breast cancer.
The pharmacy techs are quick, competent, and generous with their time when we express concerns or call with questions about vaccines or insurance issues.
This staff cares about its customers, and inquires about my wife each time we come in… even for medications and products unrelated to her cancer.
We have had nothing but positive praise for this pharmacy staff that has been ours now for over a year! A pharmacy in a busy southern California city is the very last place I would have expected to visit that made me feel “at home” like my home town in the midwest — but we do!
