What is going on with produce? No onions at all, late afternoon yesterday empty shelves, a few sad looking cabbages and loose carrots all snipped at the bottom. I asked someone why they do that and was told he was taught to do it that way. I pointed out that cutting into product unnecessarily affects it's freshness, PLUS makes it look like the store wanted to remove evidence of a less-than-quality product. Don't mess with the produce!!
Today I went back for cabbage, below photo is what they stocked overnight. Every. Single. One. is limp, curled, soft, old. Every one. And charging 99 cents per pound for product that clearly is at the end of it's use by date, if not past it. Seriously? I would not touch that for 50 cents a pound.
Seriously bummed. I've relied on Albies for produce; it's close and convenient. But today I wasted my time going there. Is your store, (like apparently every other business these days), no longer taking any pride or care in what you offer your customers? I know there are people who don't mind less fresh food, but only if it's discounted appropriately. But I also know EVERYBODY would prefer to be able to rely on quality, fresh produce.
