Had so much hope for this hotel with it being a Double Tree Hilton and located in Biltmore. However, this place is by far the WORST hotel my family and I have ever stayed in. The pictures I took are only the tip of the iceberg. I always use the digital key option on my Hilton Honors app. However, the hotel digital key function wasn't working; which made the stress free checking in option obsolete. We couldn't even get in the front door. Once inside, we made our way to our room on the third floor. Once we stepped off the elevator, the overwhelming chemical smell was so pungent that it burned our nostrils. We continued to our room, hoping the smell wouldn't be in our room, but again, the digital key didn't work, so we couldn't even get inside to find out. My family waited while I went to the front desk to retrieve an actual key and advise the front desk clerk of the smell. The front desk clerk was even surprised about the smell. He just says, "Oh ya, that smell is bad." I asked for a different room, then on that floor. The clerk looked at me puzzled and said he was not sure. He stated I should go get my family and come back to the front desk, and he should have it figured out by then. I went to retrieve my family, and we came back to the front desk. The clerk said he still couldn't figure out to move us to a new room, but after some help from another clerk, they gave us what he called a "dummie room" on the first floor. This was such a bad example of the excellent Hilton hotels my family and I used to.
