The location is convenient and felt like a safe neighborhood. The housekeeping staff is friendly and helpful.
However, must mention:
The motel is owned by a couple. The wife, Mita, with whom we made the initial reservation for 6 nights was approachable and generally kind. The husband /co- owner we learned later on the other hand, was rude, nasty and downright disrespectful. Initially my mom and I were given a single bed room (I hadn’t specified that I wanted a double bed in the initial reservation). First, my mom asked the husband who was at the front desk for a couple of more hangers since there was only one in the room to which the husband responded “do you think this is a 5 star hotel?” We later asked to switch from a single bed room to a double bed room then had an unexpected change of plans where we wouldn’t be needing the double bed room anymore for the last three nights so, admittedly inconvenient for them but within the cancellation guidelines, we asked to simply return to the single room whenever available. (Add in the fact that the shower knob in the new room was broken and completely unattached, the main light bulb was out making the room super dark and the air filter was filthy). Just at the mere ask, he began yelling to where my family heard him and then in front of someone else checking in saying “You can’t have everything you want! you just don’t want to pay! you are just giving me a headache!” He then began yelling at one of the staff housekeepers from across the parking lot about the condition of the rooms. The housekeeping staff were actually friendly and helpful - that yelling and shaming was not ok! Granted, it was inconvenient for them for us to request the room change midway stay, but not to the extent that ANYoNE should be addressed so nasty that way. That manager/owner (Mita’s husband) is an emotionally unhinged disturbed person and should not be in the hospitality business at all. I feel bad for the staff (and for the wife for that matter) for having to deal with someone like that. Yikes.
