There are mixed reviews and we tried to give the Constance by Lenox Collection the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, there's no benefit to be found here. I reserved a specific room and was given a different room without the staff even telling me we were switched. We got to the room, which was much smaller then the one we wanted. They did move us to correct room only after having to request the specific room we reserved. The staff stated that he always switches people from that room because it's colder than the other rooms. I showed him my reservation which listed the fireplace. At that point he said it is non-functional. I paid more for a fireplace room - which is false advertising. The floor was dirty in the room and the bathroom. The toilet is so close to the wall that my husband's knees bumped the wall when sitting down. There are no accurate pictures of the size of the bathroom on the website. I will concede credit to photographer for the deceitful camera angles. Luckily we managed but if someone has mobility concerns this would potentially be a big issue. The size of the shower was not specified either. You can't turn around without bumping the wall. There is absolutely no counter space or place to even put your toothbrush. We had to put our bathroom necessities on the mantle of the non-functional fireplace. You can also hear every word of the other guests. The next morning we found a white noise machine so the staff is clearly aware. It would have been helpful for them to let us know there was a white noise machine upon arrival and suggested we turn it on at max volume. To list this place as a bed and breakfast is a joke. I'll admit there is a bed. However, the "breakfast" was a disappointing, limited continental breakfast snack at best. Paying over $220 for a bed and breakfast should come with the industry standard of a lovely hot breakfast meal. I recommend you stay anywhere else. I really wanted to give this B&B a chance. We typically stay at bed and breakfast when we travel and have a plethora of experiences to compare to. The lovely - albeit, what one can only assume is highly edited - pictures on the website along with the elevated room rates would cause anyone to expect an incredible experience. Deception by omission is simply unacceptable and takes advantage of anyone who has never actually been here before. Having stayed at numerous B&Bs, it seems obvious the good reviews were either from a time of previous management and/or from those whose first bed and breakfast experience was this place and had no prior knowledge of how it should run. Recommendations for this establishment - honesty, providing value for overpriced accomodations, actually providing a breakfast meal, and not taking advantage of false advertising by omission. I rarely wrote negative reviews but this place clearly takes advantage. Ridiculous.
