I am naturally skeptical, and always looking for a lapse in quality, purpose, or sensibility. It's a form of self-preservation. Don't lie! You do similar things. It is human. This was the mindset I had going into Workhorse the first time back in August of '23. I knew what I wanted, knew what I hoped to accomplish, and was fielding options from various gyms in Kokomo that weren't big national chains. Don't get me wrong, Planet Fitness can be sufficient, but I never knew if I was doing exercises correctly. I wanted guidance, coaching, and progress tracking that made sense. I wanted to feel included and not alienated by the rest of the bulky guys or gals around me. I never had a coach of any type growing up, so stepping into Planet Fitness was like walking into an alien realm. I would hurt myself, look up information online, and always feel lost or as if the information I found wasn't quite right. When I decided to go to Workhorse for the first time, this was what I was thinking. I had doubts and fears, but I wanted to start, and I wanted to start soon! If you are anything like me, or if you have felt the same way as I did, let me tell you that it won't hurt to pop on over for a brief one-on-one with Ron or Abbey. Between the two of them are decades worth of real-world experience, working on personal fitness goals and team-oriented activities that have won them a fair amount of awards. The plaques, trophies, and medallions adorn the walls as you walk in, and this was how I knew I had come to the right place. I have been working with these coaches for well over half a year now, and I can tell you with zero doubt that this was the right place for me and others who felt like me. I don't feel inadequate when I walk in, I don't fear being judged. I don't worry about failing metrics or being looked down upon. Every session, every event, every interaction has been tinged with gratitude, positivity, encouragement, and passion. Abbey and I have formed an amazing bond and working with her has helped me to feel absolutely incredible about my goals. They are flexible, understanding, and above all else: HUMAN! Please, stop on by and give it a shot. Don't worry about the price or the time needed to attend, there's a plan that will work for you. I swear it! To the coaches at Workhorse, thank you so much for working with me and staying the course. I have never felt alone or misguided when I come in for each session. Here's to many more lifts, squats, and rows!
