best claw machines of all Round 1s in LA area
best selection of anime figurines ive seen compared to burbank, lakewood, and puente hill's locations. almost all of the skill machines (including treasure road conveyors) had the miku figures + some unique to this location
POSITIVES:
[ + ] pole in the hole machines required 2 holes for one figure - which is the MAX difficulty (1 hole is already insane difficulty for most casual visitors), however, the miku figures inside make it far better than burbank's exploitative claws. i treat this as a positive because anything beats mindlessly throwing money at the gemini machines
[ + ] the treasure road machines actually have a READABLE pink arrow. playing this feels good (compared to puente hills' impossibly fast speed and worse prizes) additionally the prizes inside - many mikus - were placed sideways and centered on a single rail (other locations place the boxes length wise over 2 conveyors which reduces the certainty of which to target)
restricting the figures people ACTUALLY want to skill machines is the best way to encourage actually learning the skills to win - yes it will take tons of money to tune an untrained eye, but learning to win is so much more satisfying than sinking 100s of dollars into a claw machine (and not even being guaranteed the win)
[ + ] There were a couple semi randomness based - machines like plinko and a pusher that accumulated score overtime towards the figure inside. both of these were very forgiving. the score based one seemed almost impossible to pay over retail price of the figure inside, and plinko had a generous amount of winning spots
[ + ] this venue has the best skill : gambling machine ratio compared to burbank, lakewood, and puente hills.
[ + ] smaller size of the location made staff easy to find as well as keep all the machines stocked (an issue in every other venue, burbank especially)
[ + ] didnt play but they have the usual lot of japanese rhythm games in good condition
[ + ] the deliberate placement of good figures in high difficulty (but not random chance) cabinets made the machines feel cared for and that someone actually understands what players want
[ + (as of 7.31.25) ] this location has the most miku figures ive seen in skill cabinets, where ive previously only seen them in payout based machines
NEGATIVES:
[ - ] this locations INSANE difficulty machines could steer away casual visitors (considering the $3.50 per try). that said, the claw machines are not any better IF NOT worse than the challenge here (at least you actually have some control over your money spent)
[ - (as of 7.31.25) ] while personally not a fan, the lack of prizes for dragonball and one piece could deter some players
NUANCES:
[ ~ ] of the four mentioned locations, this one is definitely the smallest in terms of arcade. the environment also feels a little older than the others, but the great cabinets made us overlook this entirely
[ ~ (as of 7.31.25) ] if you do not care for miku figurines, then this location probably is not for you
[ ~ ] if you do not like skill games and want less effort (but more expensive wins) i do not recommend this location
[ ~ ] unless you are capable of these skill games, this location is probably not the best for a date
* OVERRALL a very good location for people wanting to win GOOD figures and actually care about LEARNING how to win them. i wish most round 1's followed this location's mentality about what prizes go in what machines and how many skill machines there should be - this location deviated the most from the money hungry claw filled other locations. the management here is great and everything done here should be the norm for every round 1
