We showed up on a Tuesday night without a reservation. This was my mistake as many restaurants in the area are not reservation based and thinking back, I should have called. However, they were incredibly graceful. We were informed about the approximate wait and were seated at the bar where we ordered drinks. Shortly after, we were seated at our table. This is a smaller restaurant, very cozy, but this is exactly the type of hidden gems I live for. If you are looking for the Instagramable place, this is not it. This restaurant is not pretentious, it is simply what it claims to be. Amazing Italian food with no unnecessary frills. I love the dark wood decor, think London pub/dark academia vibes. But it is friendly, you can be casual or you can be fancy. Come as you are. My husband, having over 20 years in the culinary business, rarely finds anything impressive. Think Phoebe's health inspector boyfriend from "Friends." (but hotter) :) I digress. We tasted the Smothered Rice Balls in Vodka Sauce, Stuffed Mushrooms with Sausage Stuffing, the Penne Vodka, and Chicken Française with White Wine Lemon Sauce. All the food was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection! The service was warm and attentive. Prices reasonable, drinks well made, husband raised an eyebrow in approval and agreed the food was delectable. 5/5 will definitely add this to our regular date night roster!
