El Borracho is new in my town and I’ve been following them on social media. It seemed very popular with the night crowd (they have live music some days in the evenings), but I have not seen a lot of posts for breakfast. Therefore, here we are.
We were greeted immediately when we walked in and seated quickly. They had just opened for the day so there was not very many people when we got there, but more people came in as we continued with our meal. No live band in the morning but current Musica Mexicana was playing over the speakers.
I could see right away why it was a popular night spot. Even in the daytime, the custom wall paintings were very fun with relevant music artists and sports icons. Dont get me started with the beautiful restroom. Ladies, look up when you walk in.
The menu was different than most Mexican places in town. But I was only looking for one breakfast item: chilaquiles.
I ordered the Borracho Breakfast which i verified with our server was indeed chilaquiles.
And I was 100% satisfied. I did the happy food dance in my seat. The sauce was perfect, the chips had the perfect crispness, it had a bit of cheese and cilantro on top. The chilaquiles came with 1 egg (I didn’t tell them how I wanted the egg so if you don’t like over easy, you should let them know), beans and asada. When my plate came out, I thought the asada was a little charred, but once I cut into it, it was super tender and had an amazing flavor.
My daughter had French toast. I didn’t taste it but she said it was good.
I can’t wait to go back and try more good food!
