I stayed at the Quality Inn in Texas City from July 7 through July 13 while in town for a softball tournament in Galveston, and unfortunately, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had.
From the start, the elevator wasn’t working, which made things really difficult since we had a lot of gear for the tournament. Only one washer and one dryer were working for the whole hotel, which was another big inconvenience. Our room was messy upon arrival and had a strong, unpleasant odor that never went away. When we asked for housekeeping, they acted like we were bothering them — and when they did clean the room, they reused the same dirty sheets.
Even getting basic things like toilet paper turned into an issue. Staff members were rude and unhelpful, and management refused to take any responsibility for the poor conditions. We asked for a refund and were told we’d only get back 60%, which is unacceptable considering the experience we had.
The breakfast was also disappointing — mostly just yogurts and bananas, nothing substantial. The only positive thing I can say is that they had coffee available 24/7.
This stay was miserable and put a damper on our entire trip. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
