Where do I start. After a long day of driving on a road trip and getting to the hotel late, we had hoped to be able to stop in and get some much needed rest. As per the rating, it can be seen that this was in fact NOT the case. When we first arrived at the hotel and went to check in at the front desk, we were told to go to the back of the building. The service at the front desk was rather rude and failed to explain anything about how to access our rooms. As the layout was extremely confusing, we spent about 15 grueling minutes wandering in the parking lot to find the correct entrance. We had paid for several rooms, as we were traveling in a group. While I would love to say we were disappointed in the condition of our rooms, that would unfortunately be an understatement. We had an awful experience with all of our rooms, so it’s safe to say this hotel is consistently gross. As soon as we entered, we were hit with a disgusting smell. Come to find out, that was the least of our concerns. Upon exploring a bit, we found that literally every single piece of furniture had some sort of stains and grime on it, and we were all rather sick to have to sleep there. The pullout couch also appeared to not have been cleaned, as there was lint, hair, dirt, and crumbs all over it, and no spare sheets to cover it up. The only extra bedding provided was one extra pillow, which was in the closet. I will say, I was grateful for the spare pillow, as the original pillow stunk of body odor and dried sweat. There were two beds with different blankets on them, as if they had just been randomly selected out of someone’s closet, or perhaps, left behind by a previous guest. Upon entering the bathroom, we found that the door could not fully open, as the door was uneven and would scrape against the floor. On the ceiling, there was a metal panel, covering who knows what, that had split and was hanging down several inches. There were stains and hair covering the shower curtain, and it appeared as if the shower hadn’t even been cleaned, or at least not properly. The body wash was empty, as well as the hand soap, and even the toilet paper. The most disgusting part of it all was the used wash cloth that was sitting inside the bathroom cabinet. Sleeping was also a struggle, as all of our rooms got unreasonably cold. After somehow surviving the night, we came down for breakfast to find several of the breakfast items left empty, such as the milk, waffle mix, potatoes, eggs, etc. After a horrid experience, we were glad to leave as soon as possible after breakfast. It is safe to say that referring to this place as “Best Western” is an overstatement that can’t be achieved with a room that failed to surpass even being called mediocre.
P.S. , There are demons. We are entirely convinced that our rooms were haunted, as several of the dresser drawers kept sliding open, completely untouched.
